Dear friends,
For many years you have been involved in operating the Grand Rapids North Legacy Thrift Store. As the store has ceased its activities, it is worthwhile to reflect not on what we lost but what has been
accomplished throughout all these years of faithful service by so many of you. We praise God for how He has blessed and given opportunities to serve Him and His mission.
First of all, I want to express my sincere gratitude for the wonderful gift that came after the store was closed. We are truly humbled and excited for how this gift can be
used in the Philippines and other mission fields where Bible League is active. Please be assured that many will receive their own Bible and an opportunity to be discipled by a believer in their community. Thank you!
Second, this last gift is part of an incredible number of gifts that have come in from Grand Rapids North over many years of
service. You have assisted tens of thousands of customers and transitioned hundreds of thousands of secondhand goods into funding for mission. None of that would have been possible without the hours, days, weeks, months, and years of volunteer work. The ministry has been greatly blessed through your service.
I remember the privilege of
being able to visit the ministry in the Philippines, a thriving mission with a dedicated team. During my visit we were able to join a church planter for a day. We walked through the slums of Manilla and visited people in their huts and homes. I was able to see how the teams are sharing the Gospel and how a sea container was used as the church building for worship and Bible study. Despite the dire circumstances, God was doing a mighty work and using these brothers and sisters to shine the bright
light of Jesus in this area. Many Bibles and study materials were used in this area.
I pray you will be encouraged and strengthened in your faith to know that you have participated in this work. People have come to Christ and His Church and God has used your work and contributions to advance His Kingdom.
So, I praise God for you and bless you as you continue to serve the Lord in your family and community.
